The Red Sox Have Won 2004 World Series
The Curse is Dead!

Written by Michael, Age 11 of Barnstable, Massachusetts

The Boston Red Sox have won the World Series by sweeping the National Leauge Champions St Louis Cardinals!

Tim Wakefield was on the mound for game 1 at Fenway Park in Boston. With both teams the offense was high, with a score of Red Sox 11, Cardinals 9. Thanks to Mark Bellhorn with the 2 run homer. Wakefield let a lot of runs go but so did the Cardinals pitcher.

Curt Schilling was on the mound for game 2 also in Boston. He pitched great even though he had a bloody foot because he had sprained it and they had to put drugs and staples in it. The score of the game was Red Sox 6, Cardinals 2.

In game 3, the action moved to St. Louis' Busch Stadium. Pedro Martinez pitched, and had to bat because of National League rules. It was funny because he struck out twice and then got walked, but his pitching was excellent! Final score was 4 - 1. Only one more game to win and the Red Sox would be the World Series Champs!!!

Derek Lowe pictched a shutout in game 4 (last game). Lowe had to bat and he didn't do that good. Both teams were playing their hardest. The Red Sox knew if they won, they would sweep the Cardinals and kill the stupid curse! After the game the Red Sox celebrated and the Cardinals walked away sad. Now all Red Sox fans every where in New England are as happy as can be!!!
